While Good Food Practice was originally conceived as "Centre for Human Studies of Foodstuffs" in 2002, our commercial operations were first started in February 2008. But our history dates back even further, to the days when the entrepreneurs who established Good Food Practice were still working as researchers at Uppsala University. The curiosity and commitment of these researchers to public health issues remains a part of Good Food Practice, where we work today.

Experience

We are commissioned by clients from all over the world to test and document the effects of foodstuffs on human health. We have implemented to date some 40 such studies. We have worked with more than 1,800 subjects, and over the years we have performed more than 35,000 analyses of blood and urine tests.

Workflow System

In the process, we have been developing a world standard for clinical trials on foodstuffs. Our workflow system, GFPS™, is being developed to fully meet the demands of national food administrations to support the clinical trials of foodstuffs. Our ultimate goal is to enable an active health claim. Our aim is to reduce the time it takes to go from an idea to a finished study, while guaranteeing a high level of scientific quality, real-time information, traceability, as well as the possibility to collect and save data from several different studies in the same database.

Subjects

We think we have the world’s best subjects. Our database contains a great number of reliable persons who accurately report high quality results for our studies. Due to their commitment to questions regarding health, food, and exercise, and our contacts with them, they rarely drop out of ongoing studies. Our dropout rate is currently only about 5 percent.

Consumer Knowledge

We know food consumers. Contact with our subjects also gives us direct contact with many people who represent our clients’ end customers. Knowledge about the target group for your products is invaluable during the planning stages of our studies together with you as a client.
